I’ve been dabbling in food photography a little bit the past few months, which, I’m afraid to admit, is one of the main reasons I bought this rutabaga. Sometimes when I buy food for fine art photos, eating them is almost an afterthought. But I never like to let good food go to waste, so we tried something a little different! Scroll down for a recipe for delicious rutabaga fries!
Rutabaga fries are so healthy and delicious. It’s a great way to “trick” your kids into trying a new vegetable. They might not even notice that they’re not regular potato french fries.
Olive Oil spray
Salt, garlic, and/or other preferred seasonings
1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Wash and peel rutabaga. Cut into thin, even (or as I like to say, “french-fry shaped”) slices.
3. Lay fries evenly on baking sheet and spray with olive oil. Sprinkle on seasonings. I used McCormick Grill Mates’ Roasted Garlic & Herb, a family favorite.
4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping them over halfway through so they bake evenly.
OPTIONAL: Sprinkle with parmesan cheese just after removing from the oven. YUM!
